**Conference letters are going home this week. Priority conference times are available on a first come, first serve basis. All conferences will be held on Monday, October 12th.

Math - Multiplication: Please be sure you are practicing multiplication facts EVERY night! A rule of thumb could be one time through the card stack is adequate practice each night. Math will be much easier from now until the end of the year if you know your multiplication facts.
Social Studies - Indians of Texas
Writing - Snapshots: Let's focus on one part of our composition and really describe it using all 5 senses. This will help our reader visual what's happening in the story. This is also known as "show, not tell".
Reading - Poetry and beginning book clubs: We have 4 different clubs right now--Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo, The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau, Frindle by Andrew Clements, and Loser by Jerry Spinelli.
Science - Photosynthesis, Carbon Cycle, Energy Cycle, Water Cycle
Handwriting - Manuscript letters /d/, /e/, and /f/
Spelling - Homophones: Remember that you have a spelling assignment every night of the week. All students should be taking a pretest on Thursday nights, have it signed by a parent/guardian, and turn it in on Friday.
**Reminder: Any work below a 70 may be made up. Any missing work can still be turned in.
