What's going on this week...

First off, thanks to everyone who came to Parent Orientation on Thursday. Second, did anyone watch the University of Texas Football season opener against Rice???? Hook 'Em! Lastly, I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend. We've definitely been working hard in class and I know I was ready for a little break, which I got to spend with my family and friends...it was wonderful!

On the agenda for this week:
Math - place value, rounding
Science - states of matter
Reading - comprehension, inferencing
Writing - Ideas: 6+1 Traits
Social Studies - regions of Texas

Homework:
Daily: Read for at least 20 minutes and practice multiplication facts!
Tuesday - Classifying Matter Reading Comprehension
Wednesday - Rounding Whole Numbers (enVisions 2-2)
Thursday - reading pg.49 (not available online)

Reminders:
- Wednesday is National Literacy Day...Listen to your child read or read to them today!
- Friday is National Swap Ideas Day...share some great ideas with friends and co-workers today!
- I will be out of the classroom, but on campus Friday administering a reading assessment to the class one-on-one throughout the day.
- Saturday, Texas plays Wyoming at 6pm
