Last Week of September

This Sunday is FREE MUSEUM DAY in Austin. If you're looking for something educational, fun, and interesting to do, check out the list of activities and trolley map for free rides from museum to museum on the Austin Museum Website.

Reminders:
- The Multiplication Bee will be taking place on Thursday in the classroom. The top 2 students in our class will be competing against the top 2 students from each of the other 4th grade classes on Friday. Be sure you're practicing those facts!!!
- Library is on Wednesday. Be sure to bring books back to return or renew.
- There are still parents who have not signed up for a conference. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use the online signup. If you are unable to attend on October 10th or would prefer a phone conference, there is a place on the form for you to let me know.
- THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! For the snack donations this week. We are set for a while. I will let you know when we are in need of more donations.
- We are still in need of hand sanitizer. Any donations are appreciated!
- If you are interested in helping us in the Science Lab or Computer Lab, please let me know. Our time will vary depending on the week, but I can keep you updated so that you can come whenever you are available. Thank you to Mrs. Kendra who helped out in the lab last week!
- Wednesday, September 28th is the WATCH D.O.G.S. Kick-off Party. We're looking for male role models who will take at least one day off work this year to volunteer at WBE. You can find more info on the WBE homepage.
- If you're not already a subscriber to the blog, you should sign up today. Instead of having to remember to check for updates, if you subscribe, an e-mail will be sent when a new update is posted. All you have to do is type your e-mail address in the top bar (below the title, above this entry) and then verify through an e-mail you'll receive.

Math - multiplication (Keep practicing those facts!)
Science - mixtures and solutions
Social Studies - Native Americans
Language Arts - research and biography

Homework:
Daily - Practice multiplication facts. Read for 20 minutes.
Monday - Multiplying by Multiples of 10 and 100
Tuesday - vocabulary sentences
Wednesday - Using Rounding to Estimate
Thursday - summary (beginning, middle, end)
