It's here!!!

I can't believe how fast this year has flown by. I feel like all of your children were just walking into my room ready for their first day of 4th grade yesterday. As I was sitting down last week with each of them for writing conferences, I really saw their growth. Most kids come to 4th grade unable to write more than a half of a page and are lacking any details. The compositions they ALL wrote last week made me proud! If you didn't have a chance to come hear our amazing writers at the campfire, just know that your child worked so hard and wrote will all their heart. (My goal is to make copies of the compositions to mail home.)

With all that being said, the goal of Writing Camp was to prepare our writers for the Writing TAKS on Tuesday. It all means nothing if they don't come focused and ready on Tuesday. A few reminders that will help:
- Play outside the night before. Expend extra energy.
- Get to bed on time Monday night.
- Wake up in time to actually wake up on Tuesday.
- Eat a healthy and filling breakfast.
- Be on time to school!
- Come to school with a positive attitude ready to do your best!

I have all the confidence in the world that each of your children are prepared to rock this test!!!

If you have not returned the form that gives your permission for your child to stay after school tomorrow to complete their test if needed, please send that back in the morning. If you no longer have the form, please send a note that says: "I give permission for ______________ to stay after school to complete the Writing TAKS Test. You can contact me at ____________ to notify me if they need to stay." Please sign and date the paper.

Come Wednesday, its time to crack down and get to work again, especially focusing on math and reading. (Math TAKS is April 27th and Reading TAKS is April 28th.)
