November 14th - 18th

This is the last full week before Thanksgiving and we have another full week of learning.
During the week of November 21st, we will be continuing our study of procedural texts using engaging lessons on following and writing specific instructions. Our class is in need of the following materials for our activities:
  • 24 round fudge-striped shortbread cookies (like Kebler's fudge cookies)
  • 12 ounce package of chocolate chips
  • 24 large marshmallows
  • 5 tubes of yellow decorators’ frosting
  • 2 packages of colorful tissue paper
  • 2 bags of pipe cleaner (preferably brown)
  • 24 1-inch pom-poms (orange)
  • 48 small jiggle eyes
Please let me know if you would be willing to donate one or more of these items.

Reminders:
- We will be visiting the Science Lab on Tuesday from 12:45 - 1:25. If you would like to help, please let me know.
- Wednesday is library day! Bring your books back to return or renew.
- Thursday is the Thanksgiving lunch. Parents and grandparents are welcome. Our lunch time will be from 12:38-1:08.
- Progress Reports will be sent home for the second 9 weeks the week of November 28 -December 2.
- We are in need of snack donations. Thanks to everyone who has donated snack. We appreciate it!!!! Super cheap and easy ideas: saltine crackers, goldfish, pretzels, graham crackers, nilla wafers, cracker packs, etc.
- I am noticing lots of kids not writing in their agendas and I'm also receiving lots of notes asking me why your child is not writing in their agenda. I remind them every morning and every afternoon to record their homework and any other reminders. The homework and reminders are written on the chalkboard before they come in on Monday and remain up all week. I will continue to remind them to fill out their agenda, and it would also help if you also reminded them.

Math - 2 by 2 multiplication and division with larger numbers
Science - properties of soil
Social Studies - Mexican independence
Language Arts - procedural writing/texts

Homework:
