November 12th-16th


This week we did a lot! We talked about expressing our opinion as citizens when we vote. We even had a voting booth in class and every students got to practice voting. We even used an electronic voting machine (computer). I think the kids really enjoyed this!

Reminders:
  • Tuesday is the PTA Meeting at 6:30. There will be a performance by the Kindergartners and 3rd graders for Veterans' Day!
  • Wednesday is the Reptile Show the PTA has promised because WBE met their fall fundraising goal.
  • Thursday at 7:30 is the monthly Meet the PTA Coffee Hour. It's located in the PRO Center and all parents are welcome to attend.
  • Thursday is the Thanksgiving Lunch. There are no more available turkey plates to be sold, but parents and grandparents are welcome to attend, they just have to bring their own lunch. Our lunch time for Thursday will be 12:36-1:06.
  • Friday is the Poetry Slam in Mrs. Drain's classroom. Parents are welcome to attend to hear all the awesome poetry your children have been writing over the past few weeks.
  • We will be beginning 2 by 1 digit and 2 by 2 digit multiplication. I promise you that your children are going to come home with strategies you have never seen before. In order to help you out, I will be posting videos on my blog with explanations. Feel free to watch them so you can help your child and feel free to have your child watch them to review!
  • We do NOT have school next Wednesday through Friday (21st to 23rd) because of Thanksgiving.
  • November 27th is our next School Spirit Day. Students are encourages to wear red, white, and blue.
  • Edmodo Reminder - As a parent, you are able to access what your child does and sees on Edmodo. All you need to do is have your child log on. On the right side of the screen, there is a parent code. This is what you will use to create your own account. Today we took a test through Edmodo. Your child's results and the questions can be viewed through their page or yours. Feel free to check that out!!!
