Explorer Excellence This Week!

Hey Longhorns! This is Ms. Leining's student teacher, Mrs. Dzialo! I began what is called my "Total Teach" last Thursday and I'm having a blast teaching and working with all of your students. We started learning long division last Thursday and I'm very proud of all of the hard work and perseverance I'm seeing as we tackle a very hard concept! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at megan.dzialo@gmail.com

Reminders!
- Explorer Excellence 8:40am in the cafeteria.
- No School Friday!
- Science Lab on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:45-1:20. Any volunteers
welcome!
- Reading/Math STAAR are coming up at the end of April (Math - April 24th,
Reading - April 25th). Make sure you're practicing multiplication facts and
reading EVERY night!

What We're Learning...
Math: Long division! Remind your child about DMSB (Daddy, Mother, Sister, Brother) and practice, practice, practice!
Explorer Time: More long division practice!
Science: Plant and animal adaptations. What are physical and behavioral adaptations? How do they help plants and animals survive in their environments?
Social Studies: The latter twentieth century. What were the first forms of transportation and how did they change Texas?
Reading: We have started a new book together as a class called, "Island of the Blue Dolphins". We're only on chapter 6 and the students are begging me to keep reading!
